ABOUT ASSOCIATION OF TEACHERS IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS OF NIGERIA
Association of Teachers in Tertiary Institutions of Nigeria (ASSOTTIN) , formerly Association of Nigerian Teachers (ASSONT) was founded by Prof. Ruth Utulu of Benue State University, Makurdi in 2006. The objectives at that time included:
To encourage professional growth of teachers;
To protect the teaching profession;
To protect members interests;
To find solutions to our educational problems in Nigeria; and
To foster academic excellence.
These objectives have been widened to include these:
To identify with teachers in various disciplines for their enhancement;
To organise national and international conferences in Nigeria and elsewhere in the world;
To publish national journals and international journals; and
To publish books of readings.
To achieve the above aims and objective, the Association organises Annual National Conference in June/July of every year. Worthwhile and quality papers are published in the Association’s two journals namely

These journals are published twice a year – April/May and November/December. They are ONLINE and INDEXED Journals. They are also UNIVERSITY-BASED.
Presently, Professor Reko Okoye of the Department of Vocational Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, +2348037518927, is the National Chairman.
Professor Byron Maduewesi of the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology, Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Anambra State is the Executive Secretary.
